Fishing being an all year round pursuit in the northern territory, visitors as well as locals are delighted and thrilled at having many great places for a fishing adventure northern territory. Besides the much sort after barramundi, anglers can look forward to catching a variety of other fish like the threadfin salmon, giant trevally and Spanish mackerel along with two blue water fish; the mighty black marlin and the sailfish. Internationally acclaimed as a great sport and game fish, the barramundi is found throughout the Top End of the territory. As the monsoon waters begin to recede the barramundi congregate at the mouths of creeks and run off areas, providing top lure casting action. Some very savvy anglers will troll around submerged snags and rock bars in the big rivers. The barramundi move to the territory's inland lagoons or billabongs as the seasons change further into the dry months of May to October. However, the barramundi can still be found in the estuaries, creeks and coastal headlands.
